WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Joe Biden will travel to China later this month to help strengthen U.S. ties with Beijing in a trip that will also include stops in Japan and Mongolia, the White House said Thursday.
"He will visit China at the invitation of Vice President Xi Jinping -- the first of the planned reciprocal visits between the vice presidents announced during President Hu Jintao's state visit to Washington earlier this year," Biden's office said in a statement.

A complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court said Aaron Boogaard, 24, told police he gave his brother a single oxycodone the night before he found Derek Boogaard dead in their Minneapolis apartment May 13. LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) Nine Arkansas colleges and universities will focus on changing remediation programs and other efforts through a $1 million grant aimed at increasing the state's college graduation rate, Gov. Mike Beebe and higher education officials announced Tuesday.
